Neil Jordan was born on February 25, 1950 in Sligo, Ireland. He is a writer and producer, known for The Crying Game (1992), Mona Lisa (1986) and The End of the Affair (1999). He has been married to Brenda Rawn since June 30, 2004. They have two children. He was previously married to Vivienne Shields.
- He attended St. Paul's School in Clontarf, Dublin
- His father, a university professor, would never let him read comic books, but read them himself so he knew what children would be interested in.
- He has five children: Anna and Sarah from his marriage to solicitor Vivienne Shields; Dashiel Jordan and Daniel Jordan from his current marriage to Brenda Rawn and Ben a child from a brief relationship with architect Mary Donohoe.
- Is the award-winning author of a number of acclaimed novels and collections of stories. Nearly all his stories are set in Ireland and most deal with the subjects of children, family relationships and childhood memories.
