Ruthven was seen appearing when a young Clara was with Darvell. He had then taken Clara to a brothel. He took her virginity and she was then made a prostitute. Ruthven went with Darvell to the nameless island and there, he saw Darvell's dead body and escaped from the island. When he returned, he stole all of Darvell's belongings and money. Darvell had returned to the brothel to meet Ruthven. Ruthven was given a map to the shrine, but Clara had shot Ruthven and went off with the map. Ruthven had found Clara's daughter, Ella. He raped her before telling her that her mother is actually alive. He was then killed by Clara.
